Spring cleaning is a tradition that has a murky past. Some believe it stems from the Iranian practice of “khooneh tekouni” which translates to “shaking the house” just before the Persian new year, which happens to fall on the first day of spring. It could also simply stand to reason that it’s in your best interests to clean up your house after holing up inside making pizza box forts all winter.
